Traditional Hand Forge Muku-kitae method, using high carbon 1045 steel with water temper process. The hamon and hardness (55 HRC) were created in the temper process. Faux ray skin wrapped grip and black cotton cord wrap in the Tsumami Maki wrapping style. The same black cloth is around the kurikata (knob on scabbard) in 8 sageo knots. The tsuba is made from black ionized metal. The fuchi and kashira are also the same material metal. This sword features 2 seppa's (spacers) and two mekugi's (pegs) to hold the full tang blade into the handle. The scabbard is made of wood. It is high quality piano paint finished.
