By Ryumon - Bamboo Carved Fully Functional Sword Katana with Certificate of Authenticity!
The Ryumon Bamboo Carved Katana has a hand forged and folded 10AISI-1065 High Carbon Steel Clay Tempered. The HA (edge) is tempered using the traditional Japanese clay tempering technique to a HRC 56 and the back to a HRC 45. A true Hamon (temper Line) is evident along the HA (edge).
The guard (tsuba) is iron finish. The handle utilizes a one piece brass construction habaki (blade collar) to ensure proper fitting of the blade into the saya (scabbard). The saya is hand carved and hand painted in a Bamboo scene and then black lacquer. In addition, authentic ray skin (same) is used to wrap the tsuka (handle) and then tied with imported Japanese cotton.
