The Ryumon Chinese Zodiac Katana has a hand forged and folded 1060 carbon steel blade. This is a very sharp blade! You will receive two tsubas. The blackened bronze tsubas (guards) have all of the 12 Chinese Zodiac animals carved into them.
The twelve animals of the Chinese Zodiac will be on one of the two tsuba's. There is a Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Sheep, Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Pig.
The handle utilizes a one piece brass construction habaki (blade collar) to ensure proper fitting of the blade into the saya (scabbard). In addition, authentic ray skin (same) is used to wrap the tsuka (handle) and then tied with Japanese cotton ito.
