The Grosse Messer is German for "Big Knife." This weapon originated in central and northern Europe where it was used by noblemen and peasants alike. It could be wielded in one or both hands, and its wide, stout blade was capable of delivering devastating, shearing strokes through armor and flesh. Measuring 42 1/4" overall, the hand forged blade on this weapon is an incredibly sharp 32" of 1055 carbon steel. The guard and heavy pommel are made from blued steel and feature rosewood handle scales riveted to the sword’s full tang. This sword includes a wood scabbard covered in black leather. Cold Steel, 88GMS.
