Cold Steel Shamshir Sword
The shamshir originated in Persia and spread throughout the former Ottoman Empire and beyond into India and even the Philippines. Its strongly curved blade became its trademark and it was ideal for delivering a devastating cutting stroke. This version of the shamshir measures 36 1/4" overall and features a 30 1/2" blade crafted in the traditional design and constructed from 1055 carbon steel. The handle is black faux buffalo horn and sports the classic bulbous pommel of an actual shamshir. The scabbard is made of thick black leather and is reinforced by a brass throat and chape, while offering dual suspension rings. This is a simply outstanding weapon and a valuable addition to any historical collection. Cold Steel, 88STS.
