The tanto was a dagger-type weapon carried by Japanese samurai, especially on the battlefield. It was a very effective weapon and was highly useful for stabbing or as a sidearm. This superb model of a Japanese tanto measures 19 1/4" overall and features a 13 1/4" blade crafted from 1055 carbon steel. It is well appointed with a 6" handle wrapped with ray skin and traditionally adorned with black braid cord and brass menuki.
