Traditional Hand Forge Muku-kitae method, using high carbon 1045 steel with water temper process. The hamon and hardness (55 HRC) were created in the temper process. Faux ray skin wrapped grip and beige cotton cord wrap in the Tsumami Maki wrapping style. The same beige cloth is around the kurikata (knob on scabbard) in 8 sageo knots. The metal tsuba is made from ionized metal and has gold plating for decoration. The fuchi and kashira are also metal. The scabbard is made of wood. It is high quality piano paint finished.
