This beautiful Damascus Steel is hard and resilient steel. It is high temperature forged (tsukurikomi process) full tang high carbon Damascus steel blade, razor sharp functional blade. It is a result of the way the sword was folded during forging. This Damascus steel is in the wood grain style. Wood grain is the pattern that results from forging the billet to the shape of the blade. It can be directed, but mostly it is left to reflect the hammer blows the smith imparts as he creates the blade. Only extremely skilled swordsman reflect such handmade beauty of that of the Damascus steel.

The top side and the underside of the Tsuba's have a Tsuru wrapped around it in gold painting. The Tsuru (Crane) is raised on parts of the Tsuba.

The Kashira (pommel cap) is detailed into a Tsuru (Crane).

The handle tsuka and saya feature genuine Same (Rayskin). The tsuka is wrapped in silk cloth with a copper Menuki on each side. The tang of the sword is secured by a bamboo peg (Mekugi). The Same (Ray skin) on the saya (scabbard) is red and white.

A beautiful and quality katana. The blade and markings are unbelievable as is the balance and feel of the weapon. Probably not the last I will buy here
